This was an awesome place to stay. Close to everything. Clean, comfortable and sunny with a spacious backyard. Highly recommended.

Quality accommodation in a great location. Only 2 mins to the main street of Ulverstone. Has all the comforts of home.

Great place to stay. Awesome location, great neighbourhood, and lots of secure areas to leave things ourlt the back. The recent changes and updates really bring it a step up. The only thing it could've used were a few more games or things to do but wasn't necessary. Beds were comfortable with plenty of space.

Central location Park and river nearby

Too good to be true and definitely not family friendly or good for groups. Should you choose to stay at the Tickled Trout, I recommend you photograph everything and keep the curtains closed. From the website: I want you to think of the Tickled Trout as your 'home away from home'! The house is warm and sunny, close to town, private and quiet. All this for the price of a hotel room!I understand that many guests enjoy their privacy so I give you a key code before you arrive and you can obtain the keys to the house and check in anytime after 2pm that suits you. Don't forget though I am only a phone call or a text away if you need On Stayz website it says there is Air-conditioning, DVD player and cooking facilities, the aircon and dvd player were non-existent and all the cooling facilities consisted of was a faulty over that burnt our dinner cooking on low after just half an hour.Reading through this I cannot help but laugh, there was no privacy what so ever, the owners were rude, aggressive and money hungry, taking everything they could from us. We would have had a much more comfortable stay at a hotel at a much more reasonable price. We were photographed and filmed by the neighbor and harassed by the owners who at one stage waited until no one was home to enter the premises. We were greeted with a dirty fridge, dust covered floors under beds and dirty cutlery that we refused didnt use (later being told we had been charged extra for cleaning, the cutlery being one of their excuses). We were accused of having parties and more guests then we had booked for, we actually had a family dinner (hardly a party) and a hens night that the owners were aware of, it was over well before 11pm and there was no loud music, only a bit of laughter. 2 nights before our stay was due to be over (the afternoon that the owner had been snooping through the house) they insisted on more money, this was not agreed on but was unwillingly paid once they assured it would be returned. The night before we left the owners were contacted to see exactly what they wanted us to clean, we did what they asked and more. We cleaned up and left before 10am on the final morning only to be contacted a few days later to inform us that the bond would not be returned, apparently we were so dirty that it took them 4 hours to clean the house (we call bullplop) stating the shower was black, there was food under beds and the toilets were dirty. When in fact the water was filthy, under the beds hadnt been cleaned in what looked to us like months and the toilets were definitely cleaned thoroughly before we left as they had obviously been used a lot. When contacted to discuss, Jenny was aggressive and refused to talk, reverting to hanging up the phone rather than resolving the issues. After all of this we were told we were never welcome at the Tickled Trout or the Spotted Salmon ever again! as if we would want to stay again??
